Who do we serve?
At CTTS we serve a wide range of refugee torture survivors who have been displaced and become resettled here in Georgia. Most refugees that resettle in Georgia include; Bhutanese, Burmese,
Vietnamese, Cambodians, Somalis, Somali Bantus, Ethiopians, Rwandans, Nigerians, Afghanis, Chadians, Chinese, Sierra Leoneans, Indians, Liberians, Russians, Eritreans, Cubans, ex-Yugoslavians, Kurds, and Iraqis.
- CTTS serves families of tortured survivors of all age ranges- child, adolescent, and adult; male or female.
- All potential CTTS clients must satisfy the UN definition of “torture” and were held in captivity.
- CTTS serve clients from any country of origin, any legal status, and date of arrival or resettlement is not a determinant factor for eligibility.
- Communication is conducted in the client’s preferred first language whenever possible at no extra charge to the client.
- CTTS doe not directly serve individuals who were traumatized in criminal activities however, we do provide them with resources and refer them to partnering agencies.
- CTTS does not accept those who perpetrated torture, but refer them to other agencies.
