Programs Every year children in DeKalb County are either injured or killed because simple precautions were not taken to ensure their safety. An injury is usually a result of something as simple as not using a car seat, not wearing a bicycle helmet or confusing an over-the-counter medication with candy. Safe Kids of DeKalb is focusing on three areas to help put an end to preventable childhood injuries:
