We offer free language interpreter service.

Payment for Services

We accept the State Health Benefit Plan (except Kaiser Permanente), United Healthcare, Cigna, Medicaid and Medicare, and other plans. If your plan is not listed, please call us to confirm that we accept your insurance plan. Some of our service fees are based on a sliding scale. Unless arrangements have been made in advance, payments and any outstanding balances are expected at the time of service.

Self-Pay: If you do not have medical insurance, you will be considered a Self-Pay patient. Self-Pay patients must pay for the medical services received at the time of the visit. Sliding Scale can be applicable for some services based on your income.

We accept cash, checks (from financial institutions with a location in Georgia), credit cards, and debit cards (with a VISA or Mastercard logo).

Medical Records

Medical records are kept confidential. We will not release your medical information without a signed authorization from you.

Health Check-ups for Infants and Children
  • Health Checks are by appointment only. We provide well-child services for PeachCare for Kids members under 19 and Medicaid members under 21. If your child has a primary care physician assigned, the primary care provider’s permission is needed to do the well-child services. There is a prepayment of $50 for self-pay clients prior to being seen and/or sliding scale application.
  • Nurses will thoroughly examine the child or teen and give needed shots according to the immunization schedule. You will be asked questions about your child’s health and development. We can assist with referring children with special needs.
  • It is important to get regular Health Checks.

Children 1st
  • We provide a system of support for families with children from ages birth to age 5 years at our health center if the child is at risk. Risks may include medical, environmental, or socioeconomic conditions. If you have concerns regarding your child’s development AND/OR need help with material resources, visit Child Health Services on the first floor or call (404) 294-3700.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Program

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Program was established to provide screening and follow-up services to low-income, uninsured/underinsured women throughout the state of Georgia because “Early Detection Saves Lives”.

Basic Eligibility for BreasTest & More:
  • Women 40-64 years of age
  • Women with a family history of breast cancer (mother, sister, aunt) experiencing problems
  • DeKalb County Resident
  • Uninsured or Underinsured
  • Income less than 200% of poverty

Back to School (Hearing and Vision /Dental Screening)
  • Back-to-school immunization and health certificates are provided by appointment only. Learn more.
  • To have information transferred to a Georgia 3300 form, parents need to bring a copy of the physical exam done in the last year, prior to school enrollment with hearing, vision, and dental screenings clearly marked.
  • Bring your child and immunization record for the visit.

Pregnancy Testing
  • We require a $12 prepayment for the pregnancy test. Additional charges are based on the services provided.
  • Your visit will include:
    o    Urine for a pregnancy test
    o    Finger stick for lab
    o    Medicaid application (one of the following documentation is needed: Birth Certificate, USA Passport or Naturalization Certificate, or I94/Green Card)
    o    WIC referral
    o    An appointment for Perinatal Case Management

Prenatal Case Management

To improve birth outcomes by assisting pregnant Medicaid-eligible women in gaining access to needed medical nutritional, social, educational other services. Learn more.

STD

Immunization Outreach Service

T. O. Vinson Health Center will come to your business or facility and provide seasonal flu shots.

Travel Clinic

T. O. Vinson Health Center offers full Travelers’ Health Care Clinics including; travel assessment, travel immunizations, and prescription medications for malaria prevention, altitude sickness, and treatment of travelers’ diarrhea and other travel-related conditions. Learn more.

Travel immunizations and prescriptions are available by appointment Monday-Friday only. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call (404) 294-3700.
We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the appointment time. Walk-in services are based on the availability of travel nurses and scheduled appointments.
