Steps to a Healthier DeKalb is distinguished by a vast network of groups and individuals who connect good behaviors to robust health. The lead agency for DeKalb Steps is the DeKalb County Board of Health. Some 30 partner organizations are committed to improving health and decreasing disparities in the county. More than $1 million has been distributed to partners in federal fiscal years 2005 and 2006, each of whom has received from $5,000 to $62,000 for south DeKalb County health programs.
